Blaine Harbor Public Boat Launch

It makes sense that the best harbor in the county would have the best boat launch, right? There is more than enough easily accessible parking, two docks and a conveniently located rinse station. I've definitely been there when it's busy, but it's not crowded.

Crabbing season started. It was the last day for recreational crabbers, (meaning we needed to pull pots in when we went to check for crab.) It was afternoon when I was there, low tide so there was not alot of dock space. And the dock had 5 commercial crabbers tied up, and they were LOADING their boats w garbage cans n bait from the back of a truck.. This should have been done BEFORE they put their boats in the water!! We waited for about 30 minutes before any dock space was available.

Restrooms and pay station is handy. Dog walking area tables and trail adjacent to restroom. Two launch ramps on either side of single dock. Dock has room for four boats maybe less at very low tide. Eastern side ramp is very constrained by encroaching mud bank...not much manuevering room at low tide. Also mud side collects a lot of algae and seaweed. A single wash station is at north end of parking. Watch trailer tracking carefully when backing down steep ramps...my trailer always wants to do odd deflections I don't experience at Bellingham launches. Good news is it actually still has room to park on many days when Bellingham is packed.

Fair amount of room at the dock for about 6 medium size boats. Not to steep of a grade and good pavement. Deep marina.

Nice launch, a bit on the steep side but not a problem for 4wd. There are alot of Canadian cobra chickens. As long as you don't get between them and their young, they will behave.

I really like this place easy to get in and out of never crowded lots of parking for vehicle and boat trailer.
